Riyadh– Michael Aoun was able to go the distance and outwork Meshaal AlKhuzeem over three rounds of their Desert Force 16 main card bout, earning a unanimous decision over the Saudi.
Both Michael Aoun and Meshaal Alkhuzeem come from a striking background, yet Aoun had a different plan for this fight which earned him a decisive decision win.
The lightweight bout was part of the main card of Desert Force 16 event at Green Halls, Riyadh, KSA. It aired live on MBC Action after the Prelims.
The first round featured Michael Aoun pinning Al khuzeem and working his wrestling to keep the Saudi on the ground. With minimal work, Aoun managed to secure the first round. The second was no different as Alkhuzeem continued to struggle dealing with the Aoun’s takedowns and pressure.
In the third, Meshaal opened up with a spinning back kick which led to him being taken down again and mounted. He then recovers and goes for a kimura which Aoun defended smartly. Similar to the previous 2 rounds, it was Aoun on the winning end.
With neither man able to get the finish, the fight went to the scorecards with the judges awarding Aoun the unanimous decision.
“I trained very hard for this fight. My coaches put in alot of time to help me reach this point, even tho Meshaal had 4 professinal fights before, I believe I could take on even stronger fighters… I was supposed to have my Desert Force debut back in 2014, but it never happened due to injury. Now I am here and I am calling you out Mohammad Yahya. Let’s make this happen”
Aoun sounds well determined and ready to face the toughest of his division!
