Desert Force 19 for the number ONE Welter Weight Champion, Mounir “The Sniper” Lazzez, won’t be a walk in the park. Maybe it’s the pharaoh’s curse from the realms of the Valley of Kings that has Lazzez on his feet defending his title for the first time. Will the Champion prove himself to be a Sphinx, guarding his title, or will the winds of change blow through him taking away his trophy as easily as sand dunes shift and change under the mercy of its soft tender touch?
Egypt is another milestone for Desert Force promotion that affirms the expanding and popular support it has gotten form the Arab community, and signifies the authority and advocacy it has on the Arab MMA fanbase. Desert Force 19 should happen anytime around December; no official date till now.
The Champion Lazzez still doesn’t know who will challenge him for his title as Desert Force management only made sure that Lazzez’s manager, Raphael from Team Nogueira, signed a contract for the fight to happen. No official statements or comments have been proclaimed by Desert Force until this day.
In baseball it’s three strikes and your out, but in Desert Force once you hold a three win streak you will be granted a shot at the title. This puts Ramy Hamed upfront in line to battle Lazzez for his title. His third consecutive first round TKO win, at Desert Force 18, might have been his ticket to a shot at the Welterweight Championship shield. Hamed faced Soufiene Oudina in his latest cage appearance were he escaped a nasty leg lock that left him with a torn PCL and MCL. He went on to finish his fight, achieving his 3rd TKO/KO professional win.
For obvious reasons that will be keeping the “Russian” caged up until 2016, its down to either Fakhreddine or El Selawi to try and shake the grounds of Lazzez’s title and swipe it from his grasp.
Both, with a respected record and 2 consecutive wins, puts them a spot to contend Lazzez for his title.
Spotting Jarrah El Selawi training in Thailand makes the picture a bit clearer. No official statement yet by Team Altaamari on this matter but it seems like we have a Winner!
So now we got a Welterweight Champion waiting for a challenger to show his face and a top contender with 3 back to back professional wins; two of which under the Desert Force banner.
Who will be the tomb raider and battle Mounir “THE SPHINX” Lazez for his Welterweight Title in #DesertForceEgypt. Wether its Jarrah or Fakhreddine we’re in for one hell of a Title Fight bout.
