It’s safe to say Ezzedine Al Derabane (4-0) asserted himself as a legitimate title contender with his victory over Hamza Kooheji.
24 seconds!
That is all it took for Alderabane to finish Bahrain’s Kooheji in the main event of Desert Force 21 this past Monday (March 14, 2016) live on MBC Action from inside the King Hussein Sports Arena in Amman, Jordan. A crushing knee straight to the jaw left Kooheji unconscious while Al Derbabane celebrated as the new featherweight interim Champion.
In the co-main event of the evening Mostafa Rashed (4-0) was crowned as the new Desert Force Light heavyweight champion, extending his winning streak to four at the expense of Osama Alsaedy.
Rashed took home a split decision win (29-28, 28-29, 29-28). A second round knockdown was the probable difference on the judges’ scorecards, but both fighters had their moments over the course of 15 minutes.
Amin Nachib had to weather an early storm to do it! The new Desert Force heavyweight champion snatched his title in devastating fashion against Abdulrahman Alenzi. After being cut open by an early flurry, Nachib (3-1) took Alenzi down and pummeled him relentlessly on the mat, forcing the TKO stoppage at the 3:49 mark of Round 1.
Featherweight top contender Jalal Aldaaja made quick work of Ahmed Fares early in the first round submitting him with a tight rear naked choke.
The undercard fights were as exciting as the the live aired with Alaa Mansour out-performing Kadah in the opening fight of the night. Al Academiya’s Azzani showcased an impressive shift in skill and style dominating Egypt’s Mohammad Ali in impressive fashion.
Yousef Wehbe showed great heart and experience, surviving a first round onslaught from Tamimi. After dictating the pace and pressuring the latter, Wehbe ended the fight via TKO in the third.
Mohamad Ouji made a huge statement, submitting Aityachou after almost knocking him out in the first round. A new powerhouse at light heavyweight no doubt! Jordan’s Ali Alqaisi finally gets a fair matchup against Naeimi were he out classed him both on the feet and on the ground.
