Desert Force Al Academiya Season 4 Relocates from Lebanon to the UAE

After being initially scheduled for Beirut at Sayfco’s GALATEIA venue, the 4th season of Desert Force Al Academiya will be shifting homes and moving to the United Arab Emirates.

ArabsMMA reached out to Desert Force CEO Zaid Mirza, who gave us the lowdown mentioning that the show had to be moved for travel/ logistic related issues. A statement that did not sound very surprising as visa issues have haunted almost every single Desert Force fight card, forcing the organization to look for replacements as close to 1 day before fight night.

Zaid Mirza:

We are moving the show to the UAE, right now this is the best option. We’ve been having logistic related issues when it comes to fighters coming and and out of some of the Arab countries, in UAE we got this covered.

It would have been amazing if the show went on to take place in Beirut, we’re definitely coming back for this one. I would like to thank Sayfco holding and the man behind it Mr. Chahe Yerevanian for all the assistance in trying to bring Al Academiya to Beirut, we’ll see you guys in May at Desert Force 23.

As the previous ones, season 4 features two weight classes in the tournament. The weight classes for this season will be lightweight (70Kg), and the new light heavyweight division (94Kg).

The show will be hosted at the “Al Forsan International Sports Resort”. Spread over 1,600,000 sqm in the heart of Abu Dhabi’s new Khalifa City area, Al Forsan International Sports Resort is the first of its kind in the United Arab Emirates and the Arabian Gulf.

The resort, which has equestrian facilities, karting tracks and wake-boarding lakes as well as a state-of-the-art shooting range, is fast becoming the region’s preferred destination for world class sports and leisure.

Stay tuned on ArabsMMA.com for an announcement on the coaches for this season, and all on Al Academiya Season 4.
