On April 20, BRAVE Combat Federation kicks off its 2024 European Tour in style. BRAVE CF 81 takes place in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The event is held in association with WFC with exciting matchups to the fight card. The main event of BRAVE CF 81 showcases Erko Jun taking on Mohammed Said Maalem in a Light Heavyweight showdown for the number one contender’s spot.
The Main Event
BRAVE CF president Mohammed Shahid announced that the main event clash between Erko Jun and Mohammed Said Maalem will determine the next contender for the vacant Light Heavyweight title. Erko and Said were training through the month of Ramadan in preparation for the fight. Their dedication and hard work will be rewarded with a title shot opportunity.
Erko Jun made his debut in the organization at BRAVE CF 70 with a first-round victory. He has been vocal about his desire to become a champion. Said Maalem sees this fight as an opportunity to reclaim the World Title that was once in his possession. He held the title for a short period after his fight at BRAVE CF 52. However, the result of his title-winning fight was overturned to a no contest which forced Said to vacate the title. Despite falling short at BRAVE CF 57, Maalem is determined to seize another opportunity which could lead to championship glory.
The Co-Main Event
The co-main event between Ismail Naurdiev and Luiz Cado is now off the card. Naurdiev was forced to withdraw from the card due to an injury. David Forster who was slated to fight Chad Griffiths will face Germany’s Christian Mach. This Super Lightweight battle will now serve as the new co-main event of the evening.
Another Slovenian superstar, Strawweight Monika Kucinic will face Sofiia Bagishvili. Baki Sahin will replace Rick Luchtenberg to lock horns with Haris Aksalic. Both Sofiia and Sahin will be making their promotional debuts at the event. Sofiia is on a two-fight winning streak and has the opportunity to showcase her skills. BRAVE CF 81 will take place at the Hala Tivoli Arena, and is the first of two Slovenia events scheduled for 2024. The organization will also host events in the Netherlands, Croatia, Germany, and France in 2024. BRAVE CF has currently been hosted in 13 European nations, and the Netherlands will become the 14th nation to host a BRAVE CF show.
