“I really hope to fight for the title after I beat him. I don’t think this fight goes to a second round. Even if it does, I know it ends with my hand raised before the end”, claimed Kooheji.
With 2 straight back to back wins in Brave Combat Federation, Hamza Kooheji will be looking to push his professional record to 6-1, when he faces his next opponent, Mohd Farhad Rafiq from India at Brave 9: The Kingdom of Champions.
With the event taking place in Bahrain, Kooheji is in a comfortable spot, fighting in front of his home crowd of supporters. Across from him is a tough bantamweight challenger with a lot of experience. Farhad is riding a 6 fight winning streak, finishing his last 2 fights at Brave CF 1: The Beginning and Brave CF 5 by TKO. Though the challenge is large for Kooheji, especially with his opponent having finished all of his fights by way of TKO, is clearly comfortable and relaxed approaching this fight. Kooheji is confident that he has faced the better quality of opponents and will end this fight before the second round.
“I’ve fought better and tougher fighters already in my career, but I respect Farhad and what he brings to the table, but at the end its a fight. Just take a look at the list of fighters that I’ve fought and compare it to the ones he’s fought. The list will tell you everything you need to know.”
Kooheji feels that scoring a victory against Farhad will guarantee him a shot at gold.
With his training taking place at Akhmat Fight Club in Chechnya along with the rest of the Bahraini national team who will compete at the 2017 IMMAF Amateur World Championships taking place in Bahrain, he is surely in safe hands. No doubt that the “Pride Of Bahrain” will give his all on home turf.
Brave 9: “The Kingdom Of Champions” takes place at Khalifa Sports City Arena on Nov.17.
