Mounir Lazzez vs. Christophe Van Dijck headlines Phoenix 4 in Dubai

mounir lazzez vs. Christophe Van Dijck Phoenix 4

The welterweight King returns to MMA at Phoenix 4 Dubai.

The promotion announced today that welterweight standout and former Desert Force champion Mounir Lazzez (5-0 MMA) will take on Christophe Van Dijck (8-3 MMA) in the main event of Phoenix 4 Dubai.

Phoenix 4 Dubai takes place Dec. 22 at Dubai World Trade Center in Dubai,UAE.

Lazzez has not fought since 2015. It has been exactly 33 months since “The Sniper” stepped into the cage and fought for the Desert Force welterweight title defeating Mohamed Ghorabi in a historical fight.
Despite this long break, it is very hard to forget that the Tunisian finished all his fights via KO or TKO against top contenders. From the explosive head-kick knockout against Anas Siraj Mounir, to his total annihilation of Amr Wahman, topping it all with being crowned CHAMP in the toughest division in the world, everyone is waiting to see how this comeback will go. Lazzez will surely be focused on doing his best and securing a proper performance at this point.

Opposing him is Belgium’s Christophe Vandjick who made his promotional debut at Phoenix 1. Despite a shaky performance that ended with him getting KO’d against Pavel Kusch, Vandijick’s talent and ground game is something Lazzez needs to focus on. Out of his 8 victories, Van dijck finished 6, 5 by submission. His latest win came 2 months ago in Macau when he submitted Hui Li in the 1st round.

This is the first official matchup announced by Phoenix Fighting Championship, yet many fighters have been signed and will take part of Phoenix 4 Dubai.

Fighters officially announced are: Mohamed Ghorabi, Mohamad Karaki, Ahmed Labban, Philippe Massoud, Anas Siraj Mounir, Roman Wehbe, Mehdi Ramezani, Moise Rimbon, Ibrahim El Sawi, Ezzedine Alderbani, Alaa Mansour.
