Al Academiya Season 2 featherweight winner Jordanian Ghaleb Al Harahshe is back and ready to tangle with Bahrain’s Hamzeh Kooheji (2-0) at Desert Force as it returns to Jordan’s Capital.
The duo will meet in the main event of Desert Force 17 which takes place in Amman on the 18th of May at the King Hussein Boxing Arena.
The crowd favorite Al Harahshe will have a huge advantage fighting in his country and in front of his home crowd. As we witnessed in Al Academiya Season 2, Al Harahshe’s grappling skills and take-downs are a big force to reckon in the featherweight division. The Jordanian proved to be a big threat for anyone he has faces in the cage. With a professional record of 2-0 and after his last victory in the Al Academiya 2 finale against Yaser Zaid (round 2 rear-naked choke submission), Al Harahshe will be looking to push his record to 3-0 and possibly compete for the Desert Force featherweight 66 KG title crest.
Staring at him on the opposite side of the cage is Bahraini Hamzeh Kooheji who made his promotional debut back when Desert Force hit Bahrain in its 11th installment. With a successful performance against Saudi’s AbdulMalik Almardhi, Kooheji who also rides a 2-0 professional record will be looking to show that he is a serious contender in this division and steal the spotlight by pulling an upset over the crowd favorite in his home country.
This one is a definite decider in the future of the featherweight division.
