ANOTHER TITLE FIGHT SET FOR PHOENIX 9!
A gigantic fight has been added to headline Phoenix 9 set to take place on August 2 in Dubai, UAE.
Phoenix CEO and president, Mr. Chahe Yerevanian, has officially announced Claudio Cezario from Brazil and Hayder Hassan from Iraq as the main contenders for the Phoenix welterweight title strap.
Having made his Phoenix debut back in 2016, Claudio Cezario (12-4-0) has had 3 impressive performances over 3 top ranked opponents in the promotion. Cezario was able to out-score Mohammad Ghorabi and earn a split decision victory at Phoenix 1, following it up with 2 consecutive TKO finishes over Samat Emilbekov at Phoenix 4 and another over Nayeb Hezam in Phoenix 6. His versatile combat skills and consecutive winning streak at Phoenix has put him on top of the promotion’s welterweight division, well-deserving of a welterweight title shot opportunity.
A former Strikeforce and UFC competitor, Hayder Hassan (7-4-0) arrived to Phoenix surrounded with a huge hype, and boy did he live up to it! Though his first appearance in the promotion didn’t go in his favor, losing via DQ to former UFC superstar Roger Huerta in Phoenix 4, his performance in the fight was still a sight to behold. Hassan returned to Phoenix 6 to take on Pavel Kusch in what was perhaps one of the most anticipated fights on the card, handing Kusch a unanimous decision defeat while delivering an outstandingly powerful show. The level of experience that Hassan has in some of the world’s top Mixed Martial Arts promotions is guaranteed to raise the performance and entertainment value of this fight beyond the next level. Now, the Phoenix fans will watch an amazing square off between two hungry competitors, only one of which will walk away with the Phoenix welterweight title strap.
