Ilias Bulaid is still undefeated in MMA but overcame many obstacles to secure his recent win.

Competing against Saba Sozashvili at Fight 2 One on March 16th, ‘The Blade’ took on a fellow unbeaten MMA fighter. When the dust settled, Sozashvili had the first blemish on his professional record as Bulaid triumphantly grew his spotless record while returning after almost a year outside of competition.

Celebrating the win post-fight on Instagram, Bulaid captioned the post stating,

“El hamdulilah! 9 months ago I tought my career was over. I tore my ACL and MCL completely and needed surgery. I have worked day and night to recover as soon as possible to continue the mission to where we want to go. Now, exactly 9 months post surgery we were back in the octagon with a spectaculair fight. 5-0 it is, and it’s time for the next step????”

The former Krush and K1 kickboxer improved his overall mixed martial arts record to five wins opposite zero defeats as mentioned in the above IG post. His first three fights were under the Bellator MMA banner as Bulaid garnered a first-round KO of Vitalic Maiboroda in his promotional debut and debut in the sport overall. That transpired at Bellator 227 in September 2019 with Ilias Bulaid getting it done with a knee from the clinch.

The 28-year-old then put together back-to-back points wins over Diego Freitas and Georges Sasu at Bellator 240 and Bellator 270 respectively. His last Bellator MMA fight, as of this writing, took place there in November 2021. The Moroccan-Dutch would not compete in professional MMA for the entirety of 2022 after that Sasu win.

He would return to his show-stopping ways in May 2023 when Bulaid halted Omar Khaled with knees in the opening frame. That took place at UAE Warriors 41 from Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi and again saw Ilias Bulaid secure the finish by way of knees.
