A training injury has forced Tarec Saffiedine (15-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC) to bow out of next month’s UFC 172 event in Baltimore.
This is not the first time that the Ellenberger vs. Saffiedine bout is cancelled. The two were expected to meet at a January event in Singapore, but Ellenberger suffered a hamstring injury in training and was replaced by Hyun Gyu Lim.
A date for Saffiedine’s return to the cage wasn’t immediately set, however he’s expected to know more after a doctor’s visit next week. The nature of the injury wasn’t immediately revealed.
