It has been an interesting week for Arabs MMA. Rumor has it that ICFC- Iraqi Combat Fighting Championship officials are planning an event in January or February that would mark the promotion’s fourth installment. This all depends on the political situation in the country. Sectarian violence has plagued the country for a number of years and the organizers will not risk any breach in the safety of its fighters, staff and audience. They seem to also have found sponsorship so there should be no delays in the event due to a lack of support.
ICFC 4 promises to be stacked and could feature 3 title fights to crown the first Iraqi MMA Champions in Lightweight, Welterweight, and Middleweight divisions! Lightweight prospect Yaser Zaid, and Ammar Jassem Welterweight, were in Jordan earlier training at Makhaii Gym, with Instructor Ashraf Shishani getting ready! Now the reason is clearer. Could any of them be the First Iraqi MMA champ ?
