Iraq’s Amir Albazi Shines At Bellator, Remains Undefeated at 10-0

Amir Albazi notches his 10th career victory in a row and his first victory in Bellator MMA.

A 9-0 MMA record was enough to earn Amir Albazi a spot on the Bellator 179: Daley vs. MacDonald card, which was held this weekend in the London. The Sweden-raised Iraqi talent made his Bellator debut on Friday May 19, 2017, taking home a much-deserved victory against the hyped Jamie Powell (6-2).

Prior to this high-profile fight, Albazi has managed to finish all of his fights, either by submission or by knockout. Although his Bellator debut went the distance, Albazi impressed with his breathtaking style, bringing a solid game and controlling Powell all throughout the three rounds.

“Even though I could not finish the fight early, my opponent had his regrets about touching my crown. I just wanna take this time to thank everyone who is making my dream come true every single day. Everyone from the coaches, training partners and friends at London Shoot Fighters that makes me work hard everyday.

I also wanna thank all the people who came to support for this fight and specially my boys who traveled all the way from Sweden to watch me climb the ladders in my career. “

At 23 years old, Albazi has a bright future ahead of him. The Iraqi has just managed to finish his 4 year university degree while training full-time. With all the time on his hands now, Albazi will look to take steps forward with the biggest organizations in MMA.

“This win means a lot to me as I struggled with finishing my 4 year Sport and Exercise Science degree at Roehampton University while training full time in MMA for this fight. But, I am forever grateful for being able to get my university degree and my 10th undefeated win in my MMA career and this is just the beginning of a long journey for The Prince.”
