Jarrah Hussein Al-Silawi will take on Zach Juusola on June 24 on PFL 6. The American fighter serves as a replacement for the former GLORY Kickboxing title holder, Cedric Doumbe.
Cedric Doumbe withdraws from the fight
After suffering a wrist injury during training, Cedric Doumbe had to withdraw from his scheduled fight against Jarrah Al-Silaw. A former two-time champion in Glory kickboxing’s welterweight division made the move to MMA and recently joined the PFL. Taking to Twitter, the ex-kickboxing champion shared his thoughts on the situation:
“Everything was good. At the grappling training, I don’t know why but my wrist hurt, I told myself it will heal. There’s always little injuries during the training camp. And then, at home, I wasn’t able to move my wrist, it hurt so bad. I waited 2.3 days to see if it would pass. And the next day I wasn’t able to use my wrist.” [Translated by Google]
Jarrah Hussein Al-Silaw will now face Zach Juusola
“The Jordanian Lion” has an 18 – 5 MMA record. He fought for such promotions as Desert Force, Brave CF, and Cage Warriors prior to making his way to the PFL. He has a 2 – 2 balance in the promotion. Al-Silaw managed to stack up a seven-fight winning streak, grabbing the Brave CF welterweight title in the process. Unfortunately for him, he was dethroned by Abdoul Abdouraguimov at Brave CF 23. He regained the belt at Brave CF 27. In his final Brave CF appearance, the Jordanian fighter added a super welterweight title to his collection.
Zach Juusola is a thirteen years combat sports veteran, who has also competed in professional and bare-knuckle boxing. ‘The Juice’ sports a 14 – 9 professional MMA record with most of his fights taking place on the regional circuit. His more notable bouts include a single loss in LFA and two wins inside PFL’s smart cage.
It’s safe to say that Jarrah Hussein Al-Silawi is the favorite in this fight. He has more finishes to his name and more experience fighting against top-tier competition. On the other hand, Juusola is more of a regional journeyman who finally made it to the big leagues and is testing himself against more demanding opposition.
