Undefeated champion Khalid Ismail (4-0) will step back into the cage for what is set to be the most explosive fight at UK’s top MMA promotion UCMMA.
Khalid will face England’s Richard Griffin at UCMMA 44 which takes place Saturday September 5, 2015 at The Troxy in London.
Khalid’s injuries had kept him away from the cage for a long time.
In April 2013, Khalid was forced to withdraw from his fight at UCMMA33 due a wrist fracture. The Desert Lion was then set to fight at UCMMA36 after witnessing 5 different fighters pulling out before the event.
Almost two months prior to this fight, Ismail tore both ACL ligaments in both knees and tore both meniscus ligaments, yet never thought of pulling out. Khalid’s scheduled surgeries to repair the damage kept him on the shelf for the duration of 2014.
Late 2014, Khalid announced to that he will be joining Black House MMA for a training camp, the gym notable for being the training spot of several highly ranked MMA fighters, such as,Mehdi Baghdad, Anderson Silva, Lyoto Machida and Glover Teixeira! A big step forward in the career of the Moroccan wrecking machine.
Khalid has 3 out of his 4 wins coming by way of first round knockouts. Save the date fight fans, you don’t want to miss this one!
why is he fighting someone with a 5-11 record? His last fight was against someone with a 4-14 record :S
If the UFC is his plan he will have to stop ‘building a record’ and fighting decent fighters
