Lebanon – Saida played host [Sunday December 20, 2015] to the first amateur MMA championship held under the banner of the Lebanese Mixed Martial Arts Federation. The event was organized by “Saida Mixed Martial Arts Academy”, owned by Desert Force fighter Mohammad Ghorabi, and held under the patronage of Mr. Khalil Nassour. South Championship’s first fight night saw heavy participation from local gyms and academies including Pythonz MMA, Black Dragon Gym, Shogun, Tiger Muay Thai, Street Fight, MMA Academy, Saida MMA Academy, Gladiators Team, Liwa Saida, C51, and Titanium Team.
Winners included Team Shogun’s Barak Bader, Edwin Ayyoub, Elie Zineh and Anthony Zeidan; Akel Al Rai and Patrick Dahiryeh from Gladiators; Ali Jaber and Ahmed Hamido from Tiger Muay Thai; Mohammad Sayyad from Liwa Saida; Ali Shukair from Pythonz MMA; and Black Dragon’s Ramez Kerbaj.
