Desert Force Championship will head back to the UAE [Monday January 25, 2016] for its first show of 2016.
Dubai fight fans, as well as supporters everywhere in the UAE can celebrate once more as Desert Force returns for its 20th fight night this January.
Desert Force hit Dubai for the first time back in October of 2013 for its first event outside of its hometown territory of Jordan, marking the beginning of the promotion’s regional tour. That card was headlined by Anas Siraj Mounir Vs. Ali Al Ahli, and a stacked under-card of 10 bouts.
Fights on the Desert Force 20 card have not yet been officially announced, but we will certainly keep you posted on rumors and announcements as this card builds up.
Rumor has it that a welterweight interim title bout between Jarrah Al Selawe and Mohammad Fakhreddine is reportedly in the works. The pair have met in Desert Force Abu Dhabi last February with Jarrah managing to submit Fakhreddine after a back and forth bout. Mohammad Fakhreddine will definitely have one and only one thing in mind for this grudge match: to avenge his loss against the man who cost him the first defeat of his career!
Another welterweight on the card is team shogun’s Mohammad Ghorabi, whose opponent is yet to be announced. Ghorabi is coming off a strong come-back, after his last loss inside the Desert Force cage, with an impressive first round TKO victory over Youness Mikiss.
Over and above that, it seems that Aniss Hajjajy is moving back up to welterweight after renouncing his title and dropping to 70Kg. The Moroccan has announced on his personal facebook page that he will be facing Christofer Silva in what is sure to be the highest caliber of black-belt versus black-belt match-up inside the Desert Force cage.
Fans can expect an action packed card featuring fighters from the UAE and from around the region, who will all be looking to make their mark in Dubai.
The January show, Desert Force 20, will be the promotion’s first event one of what promises to be a super exciting 2016.
