It has been more than a year since the Desert Force lightweight champion Mohammad Triki (4-0) made his last cage appearance.
The Moroccan made his professional debut at Desert Force when he defeated the more experienced Ahmed Al Boussairy in Bahrain. He then came back to finish Mahmoud Hassan early in the first round in what seemed to be disputable decision. However, Triki’s next performance against Saba settled the score and destroyed the doubts of many.
In March 2015 (Desert Force 16), Mohammad Triki was able to pick up a victory in his first title shot, scoring a split-decision win over the former champion Tareq Hamdi. Being a top candidate at then, Triki landed his title shot when he moved up on the card as a late replacement for Abdulahad Gari who had sustained a foot injury.

Though it is still not confirmed, rumor has it that the undefeated champion Mohammad Triki is planning his return in September to face Lebanese top contender Yousef Wehbe (4-3) at Desert Force 24.
Wehbe boasts 3 victories at Desert Force, with the latest being a dominant decision victory over the former champion himself Tareq Hamdi. Wehbe had demanded this fight against Hamdi following his TKO win against Jaafar Al Tamimi, the fight which marked his second win in the promotion and put him in good position for title contention.
