In the growing scene of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) in the region, it’s hard for a talent to go unnoticed. One of the fighters who is taking the Arab martial arts world by a storm is Mohammed Walid. Walid is a UAE based Syrian fighter with an astonishing MMA and BJJ journey.
Shortly after finishing his ONE FC professional debut, Mohammed Walid was promoted to purple belt by his brother Khalid Walid. This promotion wasn’t a surprise, after he finished his MMA fight with an arm bar in only one minute, show casing high level technical Brazilian Jiu Jitsu skill.
Mohammad Walid’s win in ONE FC and his belt promotion adds yet another milestone to the long martial arts history of the Walid family.
Mohammad brother, Khalid Walid, is a BJJ brown belt, a professional MMA fighter and a Karate black belt. Both brothers are well-recognized faces of BJJ in Abu Dhabi. There is hardly ever any tournament where you can’t find them, either competing or organizing. Mohammed took part in many competitions including World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2012, where he won the absolute title as a white belt. Along with several tournaments in Abu Dhabi, while his brother Khaled won silver in brown belt adult’s category in 2013.
It’s anything but unexpected to add more achievements and titles to Mohammad’s record in purple belt and even in higher ranks, in brown and black! The sky is the limit for this pure talent.
