Over the past couple of years, Desert Force’s bantamweight division has been flowing with the addition of many exciting fighters. The 61Kg branch was first introduced to the promotion in March 2014 when Ahmed Beyouk faced Hussein Ayyad in Bahrain. Since then, bantamweights have packed quite a bunch, with Nawras Abzakh, Al Academiya bantamweight champion Georges Bardawil, Ahmed Makki, Philippe Masoud, and Jalal Al Daaja as major players.
It was announced last month that on September 5 at Desert Force 24, Nawras Abzakh will meet Jalal Al Daaja for the promotion’s so far vacant bantamweight. Abzakh, the Jordanian who successfully kicked off his pro-career at Cage Warriors made his promotional debut at Desert Force in May 2015 where he submitted Abdel Ali Al Hariri with style in the first round. Originally a flyweight, Nawras went on to defeat Abdullah Mohammad Ali and Ahmad Makki making it a point that he can handle the bigger guys.
Riding a four-fight winning streak, undefeated Nawras Abzakh has 4 out of 7 career wins by 1st round submission (amateur/pro), and is finally getting his shot at the vacant bantamweight title. Hungry for the shield, it looks as tough the Jordanian will literally do whatever it takes to lead the ranks of this division.
“I have quit my job to prepare for this fight.”
“Nothing will stop me, neither exhaustion nor injury. If my eye closes I will see in the other eye, if my arm breaks, I will use the other arm. Whatever happens I will win.”
This fight will surely change a lot of things in Desert Force’s bantamweight division, and crowning a champion will only make the division much more competitive and exciting.
