Paul ‘Semtex’ Daley promises another ‘explosive’ KO at DFC 4

Top ranked Welterweight and ex-UFC contender, Paul 'Semtex' Daley will be fighting for Dubai Fighting Championship.

Top ranked Welterweight and ex-UFC contender, Paul ‘Semtex’ Daley will be fighting for one of the Middle East’s biggest MMA promotions, Dubai Fighting Championship. The 4th installment of Dubai Fighting Championship is set to take place at the prestigious Madinat Arena, Mina A’ Salam in Dubai on May 10th, 2013. Daley, a knockout artist will take on ONE FC veteran and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, Rodrigo ‘Ximbica’ Ribeiro. The fight is expected to be nothing short of spectacular as a test of styles is sure to put on an electrifying show for fight fans in the Middle East.

Bellator Fighting Championship have given me official clearance, and I’m happy to represent them, and promise another KO victory, en route to my return to the USA based promotion, televised on SPIKE TV, says Daley.

‘Semtex’ is coming off an impressive 2nd round flying knee KO of Patrick Vallee at Cage Contender XVI in the main event. He currently sits (31-12-1) in his professional career and will certainly be looking to continue his 2 fight win streak in his usual impressive fashion.

His opponent, Rodrigo ‘Ximbica’ Ribeiro, currently sits (9-10) in his professional career and was the only fighter to step up and accept the fight against Daley. He has won a majority of his fights via submission and will look to implement a similar game plan on May 10th.

Returning to the DFC cage on May 10th are local favourites, Mounir ‘The Sniper’ Lazzez and Nilson ‘Pokemon’ Lopez.

Lazzez will test his skills against Golden Glory striker, Tony Michielsen, who currently trains with Alistair Overeem’s former coach, Martijn De Jong. Both fighters are looking to put on an explosive performance in the cage as they battle for the number one contender spot at Welterweight. Lazzez is currently (2-0) in his professional career, both victories by KO, whilst his opponent is (1-1) in his career.

Abu Dhabi favourite, Nilson ‘Pokémon’ Lopez, steps back in the DFC cage after his quick submission victory in DFC 1. Lopez, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt is set to battle another Golden Glory striker, Hubert Geven. Geven is currently undefeated and looks to continue his winning streak at DFC 4. Lopez, however, has other plans.

I’m the number one lightweight in the region and anyone who thinks otherwise can step into the cage and try to prove me wrong, says a confident Lopez.

Dubai Fighting Championship’s President Tam Khan has promised “bigger” and “better” things in 2013.

“I think last year was a learning curve for us, but we have all the right elements and the best team to continue to put on the best MMA shows in the region. We’ve sold out all of our events so far and we don’t expect anything less with DFC 4. Paul Daley is a big name in the world of MMA and he is always exciting to watch. Bellator was very professional and we want to thank them for their support as well as helping us continue to grow MMA in the region by clearing Daley to fight in our upcoming show,” says Khan.

Other notable names who will appear as special guests at DFC 4 are UFC legend and MMA pioneer, Royce Gracie as well as K1 2006 World Grand Prix Champion Chalid ‘Die Faust’ Arrab.
