Coming off a highly successful, well-received debut on December 10 2016, Phoenix Fighting Championship has announced the return of its acclaimed ‘Phoenix’ series for its second installment ( Phoenix 2 ) on Saturday, April 29th 2017 in Beirut, Lebanon.
The mastermind behind the Phoenix Fighting Championship, Chahe Yerevanian said:
“Phoenix 2 will have a standout fight card, with similar even higher standards seen and enjoyed in Phoenix 1. It will include bigger names and bigger fights in both Muay Thai and MMA – together under the same roof again.”
The promotion’s historic debut in Lebanon was an unprecedented sports experience in the Middle East and a complete success, anchored by world class Muay Thai legend, Buakaw Banchamek, delivering an unforgettable spectacle. Phoenix ONE took place Saturday December 10, 2016 with the international line-up event broadcasted live on LBC (Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation).
Headlining the event was Muay Thai legend Buakaw Banchamek who outclassed Andrei Kulebin to claim the first “Phoenix” Muay Thai championship belt. In the MMA headliner, Grappling star Davi Ramos similarly outperformed Nick Piedmont to win the Phoenix lightweight MMA championship belt.
Phoenix President Chahe Yerevanian added:
“I was expecting success, and I was pleased and impressed by the actual turn out of over 5000 people and the international and exceptional TV ratings which stood out among the highest ratings of the shows LBC has broadcasted. For the next event we are going to close the entire stadium that fits up to 8000 people ”
