Ramadan Numan vs. Aziz Julaidan
Aziz Julaidan makes his debut at 66 kgs, having previously fought previously in the 70kg division, against Desert Force Debutant Ramadan Numan.
Ramadan is a Muay Thai fighter with a solid amateur track record but will face one hell of a pro MMA debut against jiu jitsu standout Aziz Julaidan. Aziz has a 1-1 Desert Force record, famously defeating Ahmad Darmaki in the 1st round in his last fight. Aziz will look to better his record and work his way towards a title shot against current holder Abdulkareem Al Selwady. A convincing win over Ramadan would be a great start but the Saudi grappler has to contend with the lighting fast striking of Numan as well as his vicious knees. Ramadan will have to keep this fight standing and work on neutralizing any takedowns by Julaidan whilst keep him in his striking range. This is a great matchup of striker vs. ground specialist, and one that I have a feeling wont go past the first round!
Khawarismi prediciton – Aziz Julaidan via submission
Sultan Ali Owais vs. Abdulmalek Mardhi
One thing you can bet on is that this fight will have the fans screaming! Two GCC fighters dishing it out! Abdulmalek lost his last outing against the Jordanian Ahmad Ansari via armbar but will have worked on his ground game since then. His striking is impressive though and dangerous. Against Ansari he opened up with a superman punch and connected with a few follow ups pushing Ansari to look for the takedown and make it a ground battle.
Owais is a student of the infamous K1 and Kyokushin fighter Najmeddin Al Haddad who is renowned for his awesome kicks and will be making his pro MMA debut in front of a home crowd! Two GCC fighters who are both comfortable standing and trading… we are in for a treat!
Khawarizmi predicition – Sultan Ali Owais via TKO
Ahmad Amir vs Hamzah Naxush
Amir will be known to several MMA fans from his performances in the Al Batal show where he demonstrated good wrestling technique and skills and managed to subdue many of his opponents attempts to stand and trade with him. This many also has a rock solid chin! One major advantage he has over his opponent is his MMA experience, however this is both his and Hamzah’s MMA pro Debut.
Naxush trains with wrestling submission wizard Ashraf “The Beard” Shishani at the Desert Force training center, home to some of the top MMA prospects in the Middle East at the moment. His ground game will surely be solid, but his striking cannot be disregarded since he is a combat sambo practioner and sparring partner of Thabet Agha (who won the Al Batal show)
We have a sneaky feeling this fight will go three rounds
Khawarizmi predicition – Hamzah Nafush via TKO
Tarek Suleiman vs. Abdel Medjedoub
Suleiman’s last performance inside the Octagon was arguably the most dominant of the entire last card. He put Sarsar to the sword with his suffocating and relentless wrestling. He has been working on his stand up game recently with UFC alum Roger Huerta at Tiger Muay Thai in Phuket. He will need to draw on all of his training in Thailand since his opponent this time around is a boxing specialist who trains out of TriStar Gym in Montreal…. Yes that TriStar… with Rory McDonald, George St Pierre and John Makdessi.
Suleiman’s advantage will be on the ground, albeit getting Medjedoub on the ground will be a tall ask and he knows he has the advantage standing.
This fight will probably not go the distance and will be decided on razor thin marigns or errors.
Khawarizmi prediciton – Tarek Suleiman via TKO
Elias Baaklini vs. Metlouti
Two heavyweights going for the kill… Nope its not Cain Velasquez vs. JDS (that’s a few days later) but rather Elias Baaklini vs Metlouti!
Baaklini is making his return to the Desert Force Octagon after recovering from a nasty dislocation of his shoulder. A product of the renowned Shogun gym, his strengths lie in his striking and in a vicious ground and pound game. The Lebanese “predator” currently has a 1-1 record
Metlouti, fighting out of Tunisian Top Team, is making his pro MMA debut. Although he has limited ground game his stand up is fierce! Seriously nasty fierce! On top of that, he has stamina to burn for days!
Baaklini has to look to end the fight as fast as he can. It is doubtful that his cardio can keep up with Metlouti’s who will probably try to keep this fight standing and will look to tire the “predator” before going for the kill
Khawarizmi prediction – no idea, with heavyweights this can go anywhere. But if it goes past the first round I think Metlouti has the advantage, but Baaklini is a killer who finished his last fight in less than 45 seconds!
Ahmad Boussairy vs. Abd el Rahman Aldergham
Boussairy will be looking to get back into the W column against Aldergham and work his way towards a title shot as soon as possible. The Kuwaiti impressed many with his win over Silvester Saba but fell short of winning the title when he lost against the current champion Haider al Rasheed. A Jeet Kune Do practitioner, Boussairy’s unorthodox striking will be a real threat to Aldergham.
Aldergham wears striking on his sleeve. Having trained with the likes of Ibrahim al Sawi, his amateur bouts showcased his explosiveness that could pose a real threat to Boussairy (who has been dropped before, but has managed to come back).
Alderghram must waste no time in going after Boussairy, Boussairy on the other hand has to patiently pick his counter strikes and look to take this fight to the ground as soon as he can.
Khawarizmi prediciton – Boussairy via Submission
Anas Siraj Mounir vs. Ali Ahli
This is an awesome fight! Both fighters are undefeated going into this fight but one fighters record will be blemished after this bout.
Ali is a muay thai specialist who has good takedown defense skills and is a very cerebral fighter. Critics might say that he hasn’t fought in quite some time (almost 600 days), albeit he has participated in BJJ competitions in that time and has developed his game along with the team at Team Nogeuira.
Mounir arrives hot on the heels of a youtube highlight reel cartwheel kick ko! He has an impressive 8-0 amateur record and a 2-0. A well rounded fighter, he has all the tools to win this fight!
Khawarizmi predicition – Anas Siraj Mounir via TKO
