Rami Aziz: Selwady Won’t Survive At Lightweight

Rami Aziz has fired more shots at Abdul Kareem Al Selwady! And so, he has given his take on why he lost their main event scrap at Brave 1: The Beginning.

Selwady finished the fight in dominant fashion, capitalizing on a Aziz error. The Jordanian took him down and landed the Rear Naked Choke submission. However, Aziz has revealed that his training camp was insufficient. He also added that there was a glaring disparity between their natural weight classes.

He said:

“I’ve given him space to enjoy his win and talk about how good he is. Now I’m coming with the big one. What people don’t know is that I fought that fight in a higher weight class. Moreover, it was only six weeks preparation after having been away from MMA.”

“I won’t challenge him for a rematch,” he added. “He clearly won that fight, but he won’t survive in lightweight and I will take the Brave Featherweight belt. One day he will come to my division asking for me.”

The 25-year-old from Swedish Top Team is confident he can make a successful comeback to MMA, but doesn’t want to rush back too soon.

Brave 2: Dynasty, to be headlined by Fullen Vs Omer, is just around the corner and will take place on December 2nd.

The fight card already filling up and the first Brave World Title will be on the line in the main event.

But Aziz has other ideas about his future and also leaks some interesting info regarding his teammate Erik Carlsson.

“I won’t fight at Brave 2, it’s too soon for me,” he said. “But my friend Erik Carlsson will and let me tell you he will be the next Alexander Gustafsson.”

He added:

“Brave 3 in February will be perfect for me. However, I am coming back stronger than before and I am going to take some time to train MMA and focus on the right things.”

Brave 2 tickets are on sale now at www.bravefights.com and will feature the first ever Brave title fight.
