A welterweight bout between Rami Hamed and Walid Akrouh is the latest addition to May’s Desert Force 17 lineup Jordan. Desert Force 17 takes place in Amman on the 18th May at the King Hussein Boxing Arena.
Rami Hamed, fighting out of Team Shogun, is another Lebanese power house who quickly proved himself in the 77Kg division. Known as Shogun’s golden boy, Hamed made a majestic debut in Desert Force Abu Dhabi finishing the more experienced Spanish opponent Victor Monfort in the fastest and most taunting finish of that night.
Walid Akrouh on the other hand is holder of the Al Batal MMA reality show 84Kg title. Akrouh was the youngest fighter on the show. He took out Sofiane Seghir in the eliminations with a brilliantly executed Armbar. On reaching the 84KG finals, his challenger broke his wrist, and Sofiane stepped back to face him. Walid once again had him in an Armbar for the finish and was awarded the Middleweight Al Batal title.
