Sami Antar claims Phoenix FC offered him Karaki instead of Rimbon

It appears that Sami Antar has shifted again, campaigning to get his opportunity for a battle against Phoenix middleweight Champion Mohammad Karaki!

After their initial scheduled fight was scrapped more than 4 years ago due to an injury that Antar sustained in training, it seems that Phoenix Fighting Champion has taken the initiative to revive one of the hottest Mixed Martial Arts rivalries in the Middle East, allowing both of these undefeated fighters to recognize who the better man is inside the Phoenix cage.

The news saw light after Antar shared an Instagram post about the situation, claiming that Phoenix Light-Heavyweight Champion Moise Rimbon in ducking him and that Phoenix offered him Middleweight Champion Mohammad Karaki instead. Antar continues to state that he has accepted the offered bout against the champion, but is currently waiting on his rival to do the same.

Sami Antar: “Smelly Swamp @moise.rimbon is hiding in fear of his life! Phoenix FC offers Middleweight champion @mohammad.karaki in exchange! I accepted, as I love Lebanese food! Karaki is still contemplating if he has the balls to fight his greatest rival Sami “The Savage” Antar! #mma #phoenixfc #phoenix9 #KillKaraki”

Equally known for his brash style of trash talking ability, and coupled with his in-cage fighting skills, Antar has been calling out Karaki for a long time now. He has recently made his way back to the cage after 6 years of absence, this time making his Phoenix debut by defeating Osama Elseady and forcing him to submit in the 2nd round. On paper, the undefeated Antar could be Karaki’s toughest challenger to date if all goes well and this match-up is actually made by the promotion.

Undefeated and a multi-promotional / multi-weight class champion, perhaps Karaki’s biggest achievement was earned in Phoenix 6 by submitting Sallah-Eddine Dekhissi in the 1st round of a scheduled 5 rounder for the vacant Middleweight title. Before that, Karaki made his promotional debut in Phoenix 4 by knocking out Alaa Mansour through a bloody and brutal fashion in what was no doubt one of the most violent knockouts we’ve ever seen. In his career so far, Karaki has been the victim of repetitive trash talking attempts by his rivals, but has always been able to come out as the classy victor. Will this too be the case against Sami Antar?
