Anyone with interest in MMA in the Arab world knows who Thabet Agha is. He fought amateur for Cage Warriors, fought for RFC-Revolution Fighting Championship and beat 14 other Welterweight fighters to be crowned “Al Batal”. He has gone up a weight class and is now set to fight Mohammed Fakhreddine for the Interim Middleweight belt on the 27th of January for Desert Force.
I met with the humble warrior, Thabet Agha, and asked him a few questions concerning his affiliation with ADFC and his upcoming fight against the Middleweight challenger Mohammed Fakhreddine.
Nothing ties me to ADFC anymore. We never signed a contract so I’m free to fight where ever I want whenever i want.It is my pleasure to fight someone with Fakhreddine’s attitude and talent. I met him on two separate occasions, one of which an interview with ArabsMMA. He’s a very respectful guy with very good sportsmanship. I think Fakhreddine has a very good counter game and an aggressive style. So you can say that his stand up game is a little similar to mine. This is what will make this fight great. Just like Mohammed mentioned its going to be brutal!! We are going to WAR.
Anyone who has seen his impressive Al Batal performance, knows what Agha is capable of. Heavy hands and slick submissions make him a suitable and tough opponent for Fakhreddine.
When asked about a possible fight with the current champion Hashem Arkhagha incase he grabbed a W in this fight he said :
Well about fighting Arkhagha next, I know it’s a cliché but this is MMA and I don’t know what will happen. But if this fight happens, it’ll be a different story.
