Desert Force just cannot seem to escape the bad PR in recent months. After all the furor surrounding Mohammad Fakhreddine leaving for Brave Combat Federation, who was shortly after followed by Jarrah Al Selawi, it now appears that there is a dispute potentially evolving between Desert Force and their Welterweight Champion Mounir Lazzez.
Yesterday, Lazzez tweeted that he was now free from his Desert Force contract and was available for discussions with other promotions.
I'm free agent and no longer under Dfc contract, planning my comeback with my team to the octagon early 2017 ????????

It appears unlikely that Desert Force would allow Lazzez to slip through their fingers so easily however. We have reached out to Desert Force and Mounir’s camps for comments but have not heard anything as of yet. Watch this space!
Lazzez has been out of action since March of 2015, almost two years since his title fight against Mohammad Ghorabi. Much has changed since then with many Welterweights stepping up their game and many new names coming into the MMA scene in the region. A return of the sniper would be big news but many would wonder what he would look like after such a lengthy hiatus.
