After Parham Razm was originally set to face Shogun’s Rami Hamed, an accident left him unable to compete and had to pullout one week before the event.
Victor Monfort agreed to step up on one week’s notice and meet Hamed in a welterweight bout Monday night at Desert Force 15 in UAE, Abu Dhabi.
ArabsMMA.com confirmed the bout after contacting Desert Force matchmaker.
Monfort:
“Desert Force matchmaker Yousef Nassar called me up and I took the fight instantly. It’s a great opportunity to fight in UAE again, and a great event to get the win. I’ve been in Barcelona since December. I train everyday and I’m always ready for anyone.”
Monfort (1-2), a Spanish – based fighter, has lost 2 of his past 3 fights, including a knockout win over Lebanon’s George Eid. Victor will look to get back on the winning track when Desert Force hits UAE’s FGB Arena on February 9, 2015.
He will face Rami Hamed, Team Shogun’s golden boy who will be having his MMA debut at Desert Force Championship.
Hamed was originally scheduled to face Parham Razm, who fell out with an injury.
