On the 31st of March in Abu Dhabi, Ottman Azaitar walked out with a first round knockout in what Brave CF CEO Mohammed Shahid labled as the best round in mixed martial arts history.
Ottman Azaitar versus Charlie Leary was a special kind of madness to watch.
ArabsMMA caught up backstage with Ottman’s elder brother Abu Bakr Azaitar, who spoke alongside Ottman’s trainer, coach Seyit. Abu Bakr (13-2) is also a veteran fighter who had always been Ottman’s role model.
Abu Bakr and coach Seyit had planned to put their fighter to the biggest test of his career at Brave 4, and yet, he excelled.
Abu Bakr Azaitar:
We prepared very well for the fight. We have received a list of potential opponents for Ottman, yet we opted for Charlie Leary who has 13 professional wins and is coming off a 5 fight winning streak. We didn’t want Ottman to know how tough of an opponent he’s facing until after the fight. It was a tough fight, and my brother showed great courage.
If there is anything Azaitar proved, it’s that sometimes heart is more important than art. This performance earned Ottman two awards, Fight Of The Night and KO of the night, which was announced by Brave president Mohammed Shahid.
