Muay Thai striking actions is being taken to the next level at Phoenix!

Bangkok will once again host one of the biggest Muay Thai events and fights the world has ever seen as Yassine Boughanem, the highly talented younger brother of Youssef Boughanem, will take on Mixed Martial Arts and Kickboxing veteran James Mc Sweeny inside the Lumpinee stadium.
After a powerful portrayal of striking skills displayed at Phoenix 5, earning the Phoenix title by defeating a tough competitor in Steven Banks, Yassine Boughanem will make his return to Bangkok with the objective of making his first ever title defense for the promotion. Boughanem is once again facing a huge challenge, perhaps the biggest in his career thus far, as he will be battling an expert level martial arts competitor in James Mc Sweeney.

Challenging for Boughanem’s Phoenix Muay Thai title belt, Mc Sweeney is a life-long combat sports competitor with a record of 52 kickboxing fights accompanied with 30 Mixed Martial Arts bout. Mc Sweeney has fought in multiple internationally recognized promotions such as ONE FC and KSW, and no doubt has world-class fighting experience. Now, he will be looking to making a statement in his largely anticipated Phoenix debut by walking away as both the bout victor and the promotion’s newly crowned Muay Thai champion.
Phoenix 8 will take place on the 22nd of May at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok. Keep an eye out for all the exciting Phoenix action packed fights that will take place just a few days from now!
