As you may have already heard the news, UFC fighter Noad Lahat has decided to leave the UFC and put his career on hold to engage in war by the side of the Israeli army right when all the world’s senses are turning towards Gaza and as people are protesting against the sheer use of violence and taking a stand to call for peace.
You can’t achieve peace without being ready for war,” said Lahat to Bleacherreport.com. If people are attacking you and they’re not going to stop until you’ re dead, then you have to go and fight. There’s no other way.
Desert Force featherweight Champion Palestinian/Jordanian AbdulKareem Al Selwady was one of the first people to react to this announcement were he posted a picture of Lahat’s article and decided to challenge Noad to be man enough to settle the war with him inside the cage:
This dirty piece right here is leaving the UFC to go and kill innocent Palestinians. If he is man enough to deal with a Palestinian, I am right here. Let’s set up this fight!
Lahat’s decision triggered huge criticism and condemnation inside the MMA world and both fighters and fans reacted in shock and dissent. Earlier today, Palestinian-American Ramsey Nijem shared his thoughts with ArabsMMA on the matter stating that if Lahat really wanted to make a difference, he should have used his platform (UFC) instead to promote peace instead of painting a picture of the evil Palestinians.
While the international media tries downplay the truth about what’s happening in Gaza, please take a moment to share your call for peace in the comments section below.
