Abdulkareem Al Selwady Promises A Bloody Fight At Brave 9

The main card of the upcoming Brave Combat Federation event set to take place in its home of Bahrain, Brave 9: The Kingdom of Champions, will feature a lightweight bout between Jordan’s Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady against the experienced Brazilian Erick da Silva.

Abdulkareem Al Selwady has been highly successful ever since his move to the lightweight division, and especially since fighting under the Brave Combat Federation banner, finishing his last two fight at Brave CF 1: The Beginning against his Swedish opponent Rami Aziz via first round submission, and scoring a first round TKO finish at Brave CF 4 versus Brazilian opponent Michael Diega-Scheck.

In an interview with the top lightweight contender, Al Selwady had many bold things to say about his upcoming fight. He mentioned that da Silva is the largest obstacle he has had to face thus far, but felt decisively certain that the outcome of the fight will be in his favor.

“I will be fighting Erick da Silva, he is 21 and 4. I do see him as the biggest challenge I am fighting until now, but at the same time this is still a fight that I am 100% confident that I am going to win.”

“Mini Hulk” Al-Selwady, stated that he doesn’t want to comment more about this bout, enough to scare his opponent to the extent of making him pull out. He continued to describe his thoughts about his upcoming fight and gave respect to his opponent’s toughness and experience. Al-Selwady made a very powerful point, explaining that this fight has all the potential to be an entertaining bloody war that he likes to deliver to the fans, and also have the potential to perhaps even be the fight of the year.

“I don’t want scare him too much. I don’t want him to pull out like the one before him, but let me tell you one thing, this is going to be a very bloody fight. I watched some of his footage, this guy has some real heart and he has a good chin. He can take a lot of damage and I love those types of fights because it’s just a war. That’s what people want to see, they want to see a bloody fight.People want to see these types of bloody fight and I like to give it to them. So, this could be potentially the fight of the year.”

There is no doubt in Al-Selwady’s mind that he can out-perform his Da Silva in every necessary aspect of the mixed martial arts game.

“I will strike whenever I want and I will take him down whenever I want. Even though he is a BJJ black belt, that doesn’t scare me at all. I won’t be afraid to take him down.”

Finally, Al-Selwady gave a straight forward description of his fight, mentioning that it will be a fast paced one and stating that he will be looking to finish it before the final bell.

“The best way to describe this fight is bloody and explosive. It will not be an easy pace fight, I do not see it going the distance. I see myself finishing it either in the first round or the second round, but I do not think it’s going to reach the third round.”

Fighting an opponent who is a Brazilian BJJ black belt, holding a professional record of 21 wins and 4 losses, is no easy deal for anyone. Erick da Silva is already on a 6 fight winning streak, but the young Al-Selwady is confident that he has all the tools, experience and trademark fighting spirit to stop him come the 17th of November at Brave 9: The Kingdom of Champions in Bahrain.
