After making his Desert Force debut in “Desert Force vs the World” in Dubai, Christopher Silva seems to have impressed Mohammed Mirza as he bagged a contract this week. Details about the contract have not yet been revealed but it will surely be very beneficial for both parties as Silva has a huge Brazilian fan base in the Arab world.
Chris took his latest fight on a 2 day notice, entering the cage as the smaller and lighter man yet managed to out grapple Abdel Ali Aityashou claiming a unanimous decision victory against a very tough challenger in the Light Heavyweight division.
Prior to that, Silva was out of the competitive MMA for a while, investing most of his time teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in schools in Abu Dhabi as part of the UAE School-Jitsu program. Jiu-Jitsu was introduced to 14 schools in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in 2008. The program has since grown and now over 20,000 students train. Silva, an American Top Team black belt recently moved to Abu Dhabi and is one of many teachers that teach the “Gentle Art” in the Emirates.
Another international addition to the Desert Force lightheavy weight roster will surely spice it up! Question remains, who is good enough to face this American Top Team Blackbelt?!
