Hani Chehimi vs Jalel Manai
It seems were almost ready to get underway!
The first fight sees the Lebanese fighter Hani Chehimi face Jalel Manai from Tunis! Hani, a Shogun fighter, will be making his professional debut tonight. He has been earmarked by Mohammad Karaki recently as one of the guys to watch! A mixed martial artists in every sense of the word, this guy has been working on his ground and striking game. He comes up against a fighter who has already featured in Desert Force but lost via decision to the Syrian Feras Saada. Jalel will have to put on a good show tonight to prove he belongs in Desert Force and earn his W.
Here comes Hani Chehimi! Walking out to a Lynrd Skynrd track! He gets one up on the walk-in song. Very fitting track considering he was born in Tennessee!
And here comes Jalel Manai! Cornered by none other than Abdelali Yachou! Jalel btw only arrived yesterday and missed weight by 0.9 KG. Not one to complain, he got straight to business and managed to lose the weigh within an hour.
Sabine Sassine introduces the fighters. Yazan Ghattas the referee for this one! Here we goooo!
Round 1: They touch gloves. Nice combo thrown by Hani. Hani seems to be the busier fighter. Jalel rushes in for a takedown but Hani stuffs it. THey trade blows in the clinch and Jalel has Hani up against the cage. Jalel seemingly working for the takedown. Short eblows by Jalel. Jalel gets the takedown buy Hani gets back u pretty quickly. They scramble for position and Jalel has Hani up against the cage again.
They restart in the middle. Quick flurry by Hani sees Jalel retreat. They trade blows and knees. A good liver kick lands by Hani. Jalel now retreating. Hani grabbing the initiative Knee and elbow combination lands by Hani. Hani throwing some nice short elbows there! They clinch. here. GOod low kick by Jalel. A big right hand lands by Hani. Jalel needs to up his game here. Jalel does the sensible thing and pushes Hani against the cage.
Hani throwing some good combos! 10 seconds to go Hani lands a couple of nice strikes and a huuuuuge right! That’s it! Round 1 is over.
10-9 to Chehimi.
Round 2: We’re off! Jalel seems to have quite a bit of swelling under his left eye. Jalel slips on some sweat and Hani makes the most of it and rushes in. Jalel does a good job of taking him against the cage. They push back and restart in the middle of the cage. Hani is throwing some huge strikes that would have put any other fighter out! Jalel pushes him against the cage
Big knees by Hani and elbows. Man, Jalel is absorbing some serious punishment. Hani takes Jalel down and ends up in full mount! This could get ugly! Short elbows and punches by Hani. Jalel doing his best to get Hani off him but it’s not working.
Jalel tries to turn but ends up giving up his back. Hani sinks in a rear naked choke but it isn’t fully sunk in. Hani scrambles back to full mount. Jalel clinging on to the torso of Hani. Hani resumes his ground and pound. Massive elbows landing! Wow! This is going to get stopped very soon.
A few more elbows! That’s it! TKO win for Hani! WOWWWW! Jalel’s left eye looks Terrible! It looks completely shut!
Hani thanks his fans and his friend who helped him braid his hair! This is one positive guy! He even danced a little bit there to the song that was playing!
Over to Jalel. ooops. No Jalel is too exhausted to talk. Man… I really hope he is ok!

He won by referee stoppage officially :s it wasnt a submission but the referee decided that Hassan could not continue. The guillotine looked very, very tight though

I think Desert Force has a lot of potential.
The only problem that I can see is the way its all being put together. The commentary is poor, nothing technical about it at all. It sounds like a few fans discussing the fights.
Also, the commentators talk about taking sides and who they think will win, they need to be neutral at all times…and only praise the fighters on shows of skill during the fight.
The refereeing could also be better, for example, the Mohammad Abdulkareem vs Jarijs Danho should have been stopped way before it was, abdulkareem received numerous shots to the back of the head without Jarjis being warned, and when Abdulkareems mouth piece fell out he should have been warned on controlling his mouth piece.
Other than that, I think the fighters are skilled…the facilities are great and the marketing is high quality.
Hopefully we will see better commentary and more experts on staff back stage.
