DESERT FORCE 12 PLAY-BY-PLAY

Tarek Hamdi vs Haider Rasheed

It’s Jordan vs. Jordan next! Haider Rasheed will defend his title against fellow Jordanian Tarek Hamdi who won his last bout in the Academiya Finale against Elie El Rayess.

The crowd is evenly split apparently here tonight. There was quite a bit of trash talk involved in the build up to this one. Let’s see where it ends up.

Here comes the challenger Tarek Hamdi! Essa Abu Nassar his cornerman. Hamdi has become an expert in making the impossible happen. Can he repeat the trick again tonight?

Haider comes out to rapturous applause! Mohammad Bilbeisi is part of his cornermen in this one.

Round 1: They touch gloves. And were off. Tarek throws a high kick that misses. He will need to avoid being on his back in this one. Haider rushes in and takes him down. Tarek throws elbows to the head of Haider. Haider looks calm and collected. He works his way to sidemount. Tarek will not want to be in this position. Haider delivers strikes from side mount. Hamdi holding on closely. Haider works his way to full mount. Lets see what he can do from here. Tariq living very dangeroulsy and gives Haider his back. This could go south very soon. Haider has the hooks in and is working on the rear naked choke. He almost has it!!!!! Tariq does a good job of keeping it from sinking it so far. Haider on top. He is still trying to go for the choke. That looks pretty tight! Thats it! Will Tariq tap?! It seems but a matter of time.

Hamdi rolls and gets out of the way! He ends up in side mount and is delivering blows to Haider! Haider rolls him again and ends up on top. Haider again has Tariq’s back. He tries to stand but Haider takes him down and goes for the rear naked choke again. Can he get it this time?

10 seconds left in this one! Can Tariq survive the round!

That’s it! 10-9 to Haider

Round 2: Here they come. They touch gloves. Tarek will want to avoid going to the ground here. He throws a number of strikes that land nicely. Haider backpedalling here now.Low blow by Tariq and Haider looks in pain. Yves gives Haider the break he had asked for.

The crowd chants are split! Some calling for “Haider Rasheed” whilst the others are chanting for “Tariq Hamdi”.

He’s up! And we restart! Touch of gloves. Haider goes for the single leg and ends up with Tariq against the cage. Tariq ends up on top of Haider in Full Mount and delivers strikes! Haider rolls and gives Tariq his back! Tariq working on getting the choke. Does he have it?! Wow!!!! This would be insane! He doesn’t have it quite sunk in. Tariq works back up again into full mount and Haider rolls and gives him his back. Tariq goes for the choke and gets it!!! Tarik by submission!!!!!

  • A lot of typo errors , plus Trigue played against Mohammed Yahya (UAE) not Hamzeh Nafush !!

  • I meant Trigue played against Ahmed Al Bussairy,

Mohammed Yahya played against Hamzeh .. Sorry

  • Does anyone have an idea how to watch this live? (GO LAWIN)

      • I tried going on MBC Action right now, but its not now. It says its at 11 pm (dubai time)

        Thanks

        • Oh, so i can’t watch it live? I can only watch it at 11?

          Thanks

  • @Yousef – of course there are a lot of typos . But we are cage side and typing as the action is happening so pardon the grammar mistakes. Its not like we can ask things to slow down a little bit while I type. If your willing to help though do come by.

  • Thank u Nassar, really appreciating ur efforts

But did Trigui win by TKO or Guilatine chocke?

    • He won by referee stoppage officially :s it wasnt a submission but the referee decided that Hassan could not continue. The guillotine looked very, very tight though

  • we are waiting eagerly for the mountainous fighter, samourai guy, Lawin Khalil, with all wishes of victory!

  • GO LAWIN. Hope you win so you leave the UAE in a good and happy way. Sincerely, your client :D.

  • Thank u nassar for the proffisional and bueatiful writing style.i did expect elias will be kod but not that fast!

  • I think Desert Force has a lot of potential.

The only problem that I can see is the way its all being put together. The commentary is poor, nothing technical about it at all. It sounds like a few fans discussing the fights.

Also, the commentators talk about taking sides and who they think will win, they need to be neutral at all times…and only praise the fighters on shows of skill during the fight.

The refereeing could also be better, for example, the Mohammad Abdulkareem vs Jarijs Danho should have been stopped way before it was, abdulkareem received numerous shots to the back of the head without Jarjis being warned, and when Abdulkareems mouth piece fell out he should have been warned on controlling his mouth piece.

Other than that, I think the fighters are skilled…the facilities are great and the marketing is high quality.

Hopefully we will see better commentary and more experts on staff back stage.

    Good Stuff overall though!
