Desert Force 22 Main Card Line Up Revealed (Updated)

There is still a handful of fights left to announce for next month’s Desert Force 22 event, but the four-fight live-card lineup is looking pretty fantastic.

Desert Force 22 which was set to take place on April 18 in Cairo, Egypt, marking the promotion’s second visit to the land of the Pharaohs only 4 months after the first stop for Desert Force 19 will now move to Amman, Jordan.

The night’s main event sees a middleweight bout between Egypt’s fan favorite Ibrahim El Sawi (5-3) who will square off against Yacine Bandoui (7-3).

El Sawi is coming off a recent decision loss against Mohammad Karaki in a very close match-up that had its controversial consequences among the fans and the coaches. His opponent, Yacine Bandoui holds a professional record of 7 wins and 3 losses and is coming off a 5 bout winning streak. Bandoui made his first appearance in Desert Force 20 in Dubai, finishing Ahmed Saeb with brutal punches in the first round.

As revealed on the last episode of Desert Force “Qabl Al Muwajaha” on MBC Action, Al Academiya Season 2 winner Ghaleb Al Harahshe will be facing Ibrahim Faraj from Egypt. Al Harahshe is looking to get back on the winning track after suffering the first loss of his careen against KHK MMA’s Hamza Al Kooheji in Desert Force 17. Ibrahim Faraj had a successful promotional debut in Desert Force 19 in Egypt, finishing Noureldine Issam in the first stanza. Faraj stands as the first Olympic wrestler to fight for Desert Force MMA Championship.

Also on the live card, Egyptian Islam Tolba who fights out of Warlions MMA Academy in Kuwait will face Hugo Periera coming all the way from Brazil.

Rounding out the main card will be a welterweight bout between Jarrah Al Selawi and and French newcomer Julien Piednoir (8-2 K1, 6-3 MMA). Al Selawi is coming off a recent split decision loss against Mohammad Fakhreddine during their rematch at Desert Force 20 in Dubai. Regarded as one of the toughest welterweights in Desert Force, Al Selawi had previously submitted Fakhreddine at Desert Force 15 before moving on to upset Mohammad Sayyah with TKO finish.
