Desert Force “Vs the World” Recap: Ahmed Amir VS. Hamzah Nafush

Ahmed was the first of three ADFC fighters to enter the Octagon tonight in his bout against Hamzah Nufash. Nafush was making his Desert Force debut coming from the Cage Warriors promotion where he most recently competed as an amateur.

The fight started off with both fighters extremely light on their feet and using their quick movement to deliver low kicks and strikes. Hamzeh came out aggressively and used the clinch to deliver knees to Ahmed before taking the Egyptian fighter to the ground. Nafush switched from half-guard to full mount and looked to deliver damage from this top position. Hamzah was clearly enjoying the majority of the ground battle that was ensuing and did a good job of forcing Ahmed to defend his position and give little attention to his offensive game.

In round 3, Ahmed came out knowing that he had to win by way of TKO/KO or submission since he had lost the first two rounds but couldn’t quite figure out the puzzle in front of him resulting in a convincing and deserved win for the Jordanian debutant!

A new lightweight force with impressive wrestling skills added to this well rounded division!
