Brave 1 has announced its co-main event for the premier show in September, and it will see the return of Eldar Eldarov (7-1) as he takes on “The Showstopper” Peter Queally (8-2).
This welterweight battle will take place on September 23rd on KHK MMA’s first Brave installment, to be headlined by Mohammad Fakhreddine vs Thiago Vieira.
Eldarov is on a seven-fight winning streak and every win has come via submission. His sole defeat came in 2009, seven years ago, against the still undefeated juggernaut Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Since that day, Eldarov has fought an average of once a year due to a combination of injuries, yet he’s been able to impose his will upon every opponent, dragging them to the ground and submitting them one-by-one.
The Dagestani has also been part of the KHK MMA coaching team, working with the Bahraini amateur team, who just returned from Las Vegas after competing in the IMMAF World Championships.
KHK MMA, powered by H.H Sheikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, is not short of quality training partners with fighters like Jose “Shorty” Torres, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Frankie Edgar just to name a few.
However Eldarov will have his hands full in this fight, with the SBG trained Peter “The Showstopper” Queally (8-2), who is part of Ireland’s most famous gym, owned by coach John Kavannagh. Aside from Queally’s high profile training partners, such as UFC superstar Conor Mcgregor, he is a tricky opponent for anyone. He has an elusive style, often using his footwork and head movement to circle the ring, land some explosive combinations and then get out before his opponent has a chance to land a counter. The Showstopper has never been finished and is on a three-fight winning streak, carrying a wave of momentum as he gets ready for Brave event in Bahrain.
Brave 1 will take place at Khalifa Sports City in Manama, Bahrain and tickets can be purchased at Bravefights.com, Ticketmaster and at Khalifa Sports City.
More fights will be announced in the coming weeks. Stay tuned on this space.
