After losing his first fight under the Desert Force banner, Mohammad Fakhreddine, the current interim welterweight champion made it clear on many occasions that he wants his rematch against Jordanian Jarrah Al Selawe. A rematch that came after Fakhreddine stuffed two wins against Amr Wahman and Algerian prospect Mohamma Sayyah.

Jarrah was originally scheduled to fight the welterweight Champion at Desert Force 19 which took place in Egypt, yet injuries from both sides scrapped this bout. Let’s fast forward to Desert Force 20 where the two fighters met again, this time with the interim title on the line. Fakhreddine and Jarrah entertained the crowd in a back and fourth battle that had Fakhreddine on the winning end, in a split decision victory.

Jarrah might have scarred Fakhreddine’s record with a loss, but this fight surely striked the younger Jarrah who was emotional after the fight. Yet that is the sport and these guys showed great sportsmanship inside the cage and after the rematch. Check out the post-fight footage showing both fighters engaging in a small chatter before the results were announced.

Fans were curious to know what was the post fight chit-chat about, and we did not hesitate to contact Mohammad Fakhreddine for details:

I told him that he’s a tough guy, and that I had nothing personal against him. It’s just that I didn’t feel ready in the first fight, and that was why I kept calling him out for the rematch, surely nothing personal. My training camp for the rematch was great, and getting caught again with a submission was out of the equation.

Fakhreddine also added:

This time we were both 100% ready, no doubt he might have had injuries, but so did I. Most importantly, we put on a great show, and it was a great fight. Of course, it would be my pleasure. He gave me a couple of good fights, and I hope he shares the same feelings.

“I told Jarrah, we can do this again, any time. He smiled! If he wants to do it, I am ready for it.”
