The Desert Force Middleweight Champion, Hashem Arkhagha, and MMA Coach Ashraf Shishani are joining forces to organize the “Middle East Grappling Cup” in Amman, on the 21st of February.
The event will be under the Patronage of the Jordanian MMA and BJJ Federation and will have two divisions: beginner and advanced. Requirements for the divisions are: less than 18 months of training for beginners and more than 18 months of training for advanced.
This means belts are not considered allowing all grapplers, MMA fighters and wrestlers to complete together.
Arkhagha To ArabsMMA:
This is gonna be the 1st grappling tournament in the middle east to use rules similar to ADCC! It’s gonna be new and different and take the fighters to a whole new level
Several grappling styles like Sport Judo, Wrestling (Shoot, Catch, Freestyle, and Greco-Roman), Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Combat Sambo have gained global popularity. The time has come to ask, which is the most applicable in an open grappling competition? The event is open for all nationalities. Weight categories and rules will be posted soon! If you are interested in registering or learning more contact the Jordanian MMA and BJJ Federation. While it doesn’t look like the event will be broadcast live, hopefully it will make its way online.
Is there a website to play? I would love to try and participate. What are the weight divisions?
