May 22, 2014 – Originally slated for ONE FC: “Rise of Heroes” earlier this month, the long awaited brawl between Mahmoud Salama (4-4) and Aung La N Sang (14-9) was nixed when Boston based Burmese fighter Aung La N Sang couldn’t get a travel visa.
Now with the issue taken care of, the fight is set to happen in Jakarta on June 14 in a middleweight matchup.
Mahmoud Salama is a veteran in the Egyptian MMA realm; he has never been defeated in his home country. Consequentially, he racked up all four of his matches by TKO.
Salama boasts great power in both his robust hands. These hands would knock out any fighter who is in the same ring with him.
Aung La N Sang, on the other hand, is the first Burmese MMA artist to join the ONE FC event. He is known as “The Burmese Python” for his strong framework, which has helped him achieve nine submission wins.
He left Burma/Myanmar to study in the United States, where his life changed when he encountered the Brazilian grappling sport jiu-jitsu, and therefore, MMA.
The bout between the two solid brawlers is a typical example of “the classic striker” versus “the grappler.”
ONE FC: “Era of Champions” is headlined by a flyweight bout between Adriano Moraes (10-1) and Kozuke Suzuki (10-3-2) with Fransino Tirta (15-0-1) facing Sami Amin (4-1) in the co-main event.
