Mehdi Baghdad:

The referee stopped the fight in the 2nd round for what he thought was a head butt, it turned out to be an elbow! I was very close to finishing Nick! I don’t know why he stop I was really mad because they stopped for over 2 min which gave him time to recover… the timeout was over and i went back to work and finished the fight.

In 2013, Mehdi had his first fight in June at the Gladiator Challenge finishing Tom Doughlas Via TKO in the first stanza. In October, Baghdad was struggling to find a fight as fighters were backing out and no one at this level wanted to face him. Luckily for him Dionisio Ramirez’s Opponent got injured giving Mehdi a chance to fight at the BAMMA USA were he submitted Ramirez in the second.
