Dubai, UAE – May 7, 2013 – Internationally renowned ring announcer and pop culture icon Michael Buffer and world class ring announcer Mike Markham will work the Global Fighting Championship 3 K1 kickboxing event on May 29th in Dubai. Buffer, a cultural icon, has worked fight shows all over the world and will lend his voice to yet another high level international competition.
“The fact that Michael Buffer will be present certainly gives the event additional credibility. The exciting thing is that this event would stand on its own as a high level international affair against the glitzy backdrop of Dubai. I am honored to be working in the Emirates with Mr. Buffer on such a prestigious show,”
said Markham.
Markham is familiar to fans of international combat sport as he has announced events ranging from the World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship in Abu Dhabi to bouts involving the legendary Fedor Emelianenko in Russia. Markham is also known as “The Voice of BAMMA” and serves as the ring announcer for the popular Europe based MMA promotion.

GFC 3 will include a four man heavyweight tournament featuring international K1 superstar Badr Hari and German Heavyweight Stefan Leko. The tournament’s winner will receive one million UAE dirhams. The event is set for Za’abeel Hall at the Dubai World Trade Centre on May 29th.
