A catchweight bout between Mohammad Fakhreddine (10-2 MMA, 2-1-0-1 Brave) and Sidney Wheeler (8-2 MMA, 1-0 Brave) is the latest addition to Belfast’s Brave 13.
Brave Combat Federation have not formally announced the bout yet, but both fighters have confirmed it.
Brave 13 : Europe Evolution takes place at the SSE Arena on June 9. In the main event, bantamweight champion Stephan Loman defends his title against SBG’s Frans Mlambo. Former UFC lightweight contender Norman Parke meets Myles Price in a catchweight (73kg) co-main bout.
Fakhreddine is coming off his first Brave CF loss. Following 2 successful performances against Marcus Vinicius Cruz and Lukasz Witos, respectively, he faced Tahar Hadbi with their first fight ending with a No Contest. The fight was rescheduled for Brave 10 in March and marked Fakhreddine’s first loss since early 2015. Fakhreddine has since moved to Texas, and joined Abdulkareem Al Selwady at Fortis MMA for this camp. He looks to get back on the winning track, with a victory in Northern Ireland.
Wheeler surely hopes this fight against Fakhreddine goes the same way as his promotional debut. He fought Paweł Kiełek at Brave 10 in Jordan, the same card that featured Fakhreddine vs. Hadbi 2, where he earned a UD win. Wheeler brings a ton of power and high level wrestling to this fight. Similarly to Fakhreddine, only two losses are marked on his record, with a three fight win streak coming into this fight.
