ONE Championship Star Fights To Honour His Father With Brain Cancer

Amir Khan set to fight to cheer up his Father who is battling Brain Cancer

Amir Khan will be fighting one of the biggest fights in his career at ONE: REIGN OF DYNASTIES on 9 October 2020. His father, Tajudeen has Stage IV cancer – namely, lymphoma of the brain, a malady that rapidly affects the central nervous system. It can cause changes in behavior and personality, seizures, and within months, death.

He doesn’t want me to go on living depressed or being affected by this scenario, so I’m just trying to make each day count and be positive. And who knows, he might live longer.

After a career in Muay Thai, Khan transitioned to MMA and joined ONE Championship in 2014. Khan holds the record for most knockouts in the promotion’s history at eight alongside ONE Lightweight World Champion Christian “The Warrior” Lee.

At this moment, the knockout specialist is introspecting how his performance as a fighter had made his father feel. Khan will leave no stone unturned to score a finish yet again for his father to cherish.

Whenever I had a good performance, he’d be the proudest dad in the world. He’d tell his friends and our family members, so I would just try to replicate that in every fight. I will always cherish those moments together.

Now with his dad in the fight of his life, Khan promised that he will be at his absolute best when he will face the Rahul “The Kerala Krusher” Raju who is on a two fight win streak. Khan finds this as the ultimate opportunity to cheer up the man who has always inspired him.
