Dead Sea, Jordan – Samy Muhi Eddin Al Jamal is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitor and instructor, holding a rank of 4 dan black belt under coral belt Fabricio Martins. The latter makes him one of the highest ranked Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belts of an Arab origin.
As a competitor, Samy Al Jamal has many accomplishments, just to list a few: Gold in World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2014, Silver in IBJJF Pan-Am Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2014, two Gold medals in Munich Winter IBJJF Open International Championship 2014, Gold in European IBJJF Open Championship 2014 and 2013, 2 Gold medals in IBJJF Munich International Open 2013, Silver in World Masters IBJJF Championship 2013, Gold in International Masters IBJJF Championship 2013, and the list continues to include the 90’s scoring countless medals and titles such as ADCC Submission Championship in 1999.
As a teacher, Samy Aljamal joined forces with Tarek Kalimat in one of the first BJJ schools in Jordan (The Source MMA). Now, he has over 200 students under him, including a competition team that is competing around the world. He is also the co-founder of a kids program, where he teaches kids BJJ under the “Straight Edge Fighter” code; a style Samy puts in practice to instill discipline, respect and a healthy life style by keeping them away from drugs, alcohol and any type of smoking. He also started a women’s BJJ team; the female fighters stand as an important part of the competition team representing The Source MMA.
Samy is a believer in using BJJ to improve people’s lives, thus he is leading many social projects to teach BJJ for free in underprivileged areas. He also took part in starting the first BJJ and MMA School in Palestine under Rami Shouli one of his most prominent .
