Mohammed Mirza | DF Athletes Are On Another Level, Silawi’s Perfomance Is Proof

Desert Force owner Mohammed Azmi Mirza believes that Jarrah Silawi’s (7-1) domination over Rami Hamed (3-1) was a statement of the level which is required to compete in his organization.

It took little over two minutes for “The Jordanian Lion” to hand “The Russian” Hamed his first defeat, via Kimura as he applied his favorite submission technique to his opponent, forcing him to tap.

A jubilant Mirza went straight to social media to vocalize his pride and send a message to fellow organizations in the region who may be looking to compete with Desert Force – at least that’s one interpretation of his words.

Mirza said:

“Complete domination by Jarrah Silawi in Desert Force 24 as he easily dismantles Rami Hamed using his signature move, The Kimura. Jarrah stopped Rami in his tracks showing that to compete for the shield in the Desert Force Welterweight division, you must be on another level.”

Mirza then listed the 77kg’s rankings, including the man who has already signed for Brave, “The Latest”, Mohammed Fakhreddine as his number 2!

The language, when analyzed closely, is a statement of pride in his organization and could also be inferred as a shot fired at the new middle-eastern martial arts promotion Phoenix Fighting Championship, which is currently building a colossal card for their first December show.

The context for this inference is quite obvious, Ramy Hamed is a Team Shogun fighter and thus strongly linked to the Phoenix CEO Chahe Yerevanian. In Mirza’s eyes this was more than simply one fighter having a bad night, or a great performance from the victor. This was a symbolic victory and he felt compelled to tell the world.

With the emergence of Brave as another competitor, who will kick off their journey in less than two weeks, the Desert Force CEO may have felt implored to show his pride in his company and the standard of fighters on display. He may also have adopted some subliminal fighting talk to his competitors, who may wish to come and poach his finest athletes.

  • thanks mr Mirza for what u did and still doing for MMA in arab world, the only problem is giving chances to other fighters who showed big fights in DF events, like david bear and chaabane chaibadra and salaheddin dekhissi or the young mohammef lezrek, is not fair to put the same names in every main card, like jarrah and ghorabi and fakhreddin and wehbe , for example anas siraj mounir was in desert force since 2013 and at last wehbe took the title shot in one year cuz he fought 3 times in one season !

  • Although I am a big fan of DF but I dont really believe that they will sustain the competition with other new mma organisations in the region
DF used to treat fighters badly, no respect, tough contract obligations and law pays..
Fighters will eventually go to organizations which are paying good and leave DF
