Former head coach of the UAE female Jiu Jitsu national team Caroline De Lazzer, fighting out of Abu Dhabi Top Team, is ready to roll on the mats of the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu Jitsu Championships 2015.
Hailing from Brazil, Caroline De Lazzer moved to Abu Dhabi in 2009 to work as a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu coach in the School-Jitsu Program that was under the patronage of HH. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed A Nahyan.
De Lazzer is renowned for ferociously leading a 3 year “war” against the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation to lift the ban on hijab before they finally amended the rules in 2014. Another milestone for the Brazilian coach was the crowning of her student Shamsa Hassan as the first Emirati female world champion.
After fullfilling her goals as trainer, Caroline decided in 2013 to comeback to competitions to become European Champion and the first resident WPJJC champion.
After that, wife to Marcos Oliviera had to stop for while to dedicate herself for her next big challenge, to be a mother:
I delivered my first baby in March 2014, and after 3 months I started to prepare my return. Splitting my time between breastfeeding, nursing, working and training; I’m ready to compete again.
