A Father, a Businessman and a Fighter, this 23 year old sure has got a lot to juggle these days. One of the best Arab featherweights in the world was first introduced to the Arab MMA Scene when he defeated Lois Cadet back in April 2014.
He then went on to defeat Elias Boudegzdame (9-4) in fight that placed him on top of the welterweight division.
As rumors started to build up of a possible title fight with the former champion Abdel Kareeem, Desert Force officials found it best to test him one more time before this shot, and that’s when the slip came in!
Rami Aziz rode a winning streak since 2012 defeating 6 consecutive opponents until he faced Chabane Chaibbedra at Desert Force 16, the first ever MMA event to take place on Saudi Arabia soil. Chaibbedra caught Aziz with a slick baseball choke half way through the first round and marked the end of a long 6 win streak for the Iraqi prospect.
Since that date [March 2015], Aziz has been out of the cage and his contract with Desert Force could very well end this August, unless declared other-wise.
With many local promotions such as AD Warriors and GFC (Gladiators Fighting Championship) thriving in recent months, Rami might as well decide to embark a new journey. Yet, the Desert Force 19 card could not become more exciting with the “Rami Aziz Vs. Abdulkareem Al Selwady” match up on it. This fight has not yet been mentioned or discussed recently. However, on multiple occasions, Rami had clearly expressed his willingness to face Abdulkareem.
Be it against Selwady or some other top 3 fighter, fans would surely enjoy seeing Aziz back, focused and ready to snatch his Eighth career Win.
